Medical Disclaimer
The Health Almanac is a publication. It is not a doctor, a clinic, or a substitute for professional care.
Not medical advice
Everything published on The Health Almanac — articles, briefings, category pages, tools, calculators, and the personalized Living Almanac — is provided for general information and educational purposes only. It is not intended to be, and should not be relied on as, medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment for any individual.
No doctor–patient relationship
Reading, subscribing to, or otherwise using the Services does not create a doctor–patient or clinician–patient relationship between you and The Health Almanac, our contributors, or anyone quoted in our coverage.
Always consult a professional
You should always seek the advice of a qualified physician, nurse practitioner, pharmacist, mental health professional, dietitian, or other licensed healthcare provider with any question you have about a medical condition, medication, diet, or exercise program. Never disregard professional medical advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you read on the Services.
Emergencies
If you think you may be experiencing a medical emergency — including chest pain, difficulty breathing, sudden weakness or numbness, severe bleeding, thoughts of self-harm, or any other urgent symptom — call 911 (or your local emergency number) immediately, or go to the nearest emergency department. In the United States you can also reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by dialing 988.
Personalized editions
The Living Almanac generates a personalized edition from the information you provide in the snapshot assessment. The content is educational — a picture of common patterns and evidence for people with a similar profile — and is not a diagnosis, prescription, or treatment plan. It cannot replace an evaluation by a clinician who knows your full history.
Third-party content
The Services may reference or link to studies, guidelines, and resources published by third parties. We cite primary sources where possible, but we cannot guarantee the accuracy or currency of third-party content and are not responsible for it.
No warranty of outcome
We make no representation or warranty, express or implied, that any information on the Services is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for your circumstances, or that following any suggestion will produce a particular health outcome. Use of the Services is at your own risk.
